After attending college and serving on active duty in the US Army, in 1997, Derek entered the insurance industry. In 2017, he and his wife, Beth, acquired the Jordan location of Insurance Brokers of MN, Inc. Throughout his career, Derek has earned prestigious industry and corporate awards, including MDRT, the National Quality Award, and Manager of the Year. In addition to his client-focused approach, Derek has held various leadership roles in recruiting, training, sales, and development.
Outside of work, Derek enjoys spending time with family and friends, the great outdoors, travelling, and attending River Valley Church. He is a member of the American Legion and the Jordan Commercial Club. He is currently serving as a commissioner on the City of Jordan Economic and Development Authority Board.
